F1 2010 Game

The F1 2010 game released by Codemasters last month is really great!



Changeable weather and realistic tyres wear makes this one of the best sim racing games ever!!

Weekend of Le Mans

The past weekend it was the Le Mans Track.


We did a few laps with the car.



In the meantime I have asked Riaan to design her favourite livery for her car!



Riaan van der Westhuizen designed a Playboy Audi R8 LMP for the rookie and she is very
excited!



The Audi took to the track on Friday and since then has done about 50 laps. So far so good.



First was day time race and then I decided to do a night race, starting at 20:30. What an experience!

Practice, Practice and more Practice....

Someone once said: "The more I practice, the luckier i get".

Monday night's practice went very well as the rookie is slowly beginning to learn the track and the car more & more. She is now starting to picture the track in her mind and that's a very good sign.



A great help for sure is the onboard lap videos of the technically challenging 2004 Le Mans track, from high speeds straights down to 80km corners, and braking a just the right moment....



Le Mans is the track she wants to conquer before moving on and she luves the Audi R8 LMP1.
This time the race was done at 19:30, slightly getting darker.

McLaren F1 & Audi LMP1 on Monza & Le Mans Tracks

We spent Friday night driving the McLaren F1 car! She loved it!!

We did a few laps with the McLaren F1 beast on Brianza circuit Monza!

Then it was off to the magnificent Le Mans Circuit in France. I suggested she tries the Audi LMP1 for size-man, did she love that!! This is now her favorite car by far!!

She speeds past me...hmmm!

The Audi R8 LMP1 was the order of the day, because this rookie just luves speed!!

she is racing me!!!!

It was great fun after all!!

Last night the rookie and I had gr8 fun on the tracks!



We decided to spend an hour on RFactor, loaded the Mini Mod and learned a bit more on the Imola track. She is getting more familiar and is progressively improving! Im very happy!

Then it was off to Jacksonville Speedway, an old favourite for the rookie.



We took the mini's for 5 laps, but the engine of the rookie's mini blew up! lol! lots of banging as well!
She has done exceptionally well here in the past 2 races on AMM. Won both times!!

Lots of cars and tracks...

Hmmm...the new racer and I had a few laps on various tracks with various cars, just for fun-after all, thats whats its all about!

Its always great to have rookie that wants to learn the basics, so we start with the techiniques of driving, and at the same time, learning track.

Therefore I chose 3 tracks: Imola, Kyalami and Canada.

We had great fun on Orchardlake, Monaco and Nascar, so watch out for her progress...

New Racer joins the team!

We have a new racer joining the team! She is a fast learner and knows how to handle the wheel...

FSR 2010 Mod

This years 2010 FSR Mod will be based on the BMW Sauber 2007 developed by the CTDP Modding Team.

Aditionally to the mod, a mod physics package exclusively to Formula-SimRacing will be added to create a car which is easy to drive and where you can really attack the circuit! Well done guys!

GTL Cars Mod

Over the previous week or 2, i had the priviledge to drive some on the GTL cars.

They are great fun!!

Porsche Cup at Kyalami Track, South Africa

Sunday marked the first Porsche Cup test at the famous South African Track of Kyalami.

Situated in Johannesburg, this track has a rich Grand Prix and Formula 1 history dating back from 1967.

The Porsche Cup is often seen here, together with other formulas of racing.

FSR 2010 Mod Beta Released!!

FSR released their latest 2010 Mod Beta for testing.

This years cars will be designed on the feedback from fellow drivers regarding physics and 'feel' of the car.

After 30 laps testing on various 2009 tracks, including Silverstone, Australia, Bahrain and Malaysia, I have to say that this is the best mod ever for FSR!

Being involved with FSR since 2005, the developers have really done a great job with the 'feel' and physics of the car. As can be seen from the cockpit (above), it feels like the real thing.

The car is based on the new 2010 F1 regulations, stipulating no refuelling will take place, small front tyres and narrower rear wing. Also the engine physics was enhanced to reach similar top speeds as in real Formula 1.

All-in-all, a great mod, for sure the best to date! Well done guys!
