Race 1: Melbourne, Australia
Welcome to the magnificent and narrow Melbourne circuit. Built on an island and surrounded by water, this track requires precise racing from all drivers.
Qualifying started under overcast weather with track temperatures a mere 16 degrees.
This year the qualifying is different this year i.r.o. the Parc Ferme Rules which indicates you have to qualify with the amount of fuel you are going to start the race with. Only minor changes can be done before race day.I qualified a dismal 15th.
Race started and Pedro de la Rosa (Mclaren) lead the way into the 1st corner, followed by teamie Raikkonen.
A few incidents on track and the Safety Car (SC) was deployed on lap 6 and I managed to make up positions to p2.
I went off track and Jenson Button (Honda) passed for p2.
Fighting for position with Michael Schumacher (Ferrari), I went off track.
Pitstop coming up. 8.2 seconds for new tyres and fuel to the end.
I suffered an front brake failure on lap 18 and finished in p15. Not a good start to the season.
Next race in Malyasia.
2009 Formula 1 season starts!!
Hello and welcome to this years Formula 1 season! I will be taking on the world's best drivers in the championship!
The mod for this season will be the CTDP Formula One 2006 and I am fortunate to drive the F1.06 BMW Sauber car for the season.
The 2009 Rules includes all races to be 30 laps with a mandatory stop. Full flag rules will apply, which sees the Mercedes AMG Safety Car deployed when incidents occur throughout the race.
Also Parc Ferme rules will be in place which means you have to qualify with the fuel you are going to start the race with.
Come and join me for this exciting 2009 season...
